I don't know how many people who know any Japanese read my crap, but I'm looking for brief samples of Japanese text which makes Babelfish/Systran choke/produce massively inaccurate or awkward output, but which is perfectly understandable to the average reader. I'm trying to test my translator on the common pitfalls.
So, basically, if you can produce such a sample (this should take approximately four minutes), please post it in a comment to this entry. Don't sweat it if your Japanese is a little flaky; I'm sure I can get some useful data anyway as long as the sample is remotely intelligible. Do let me know what you think your sample ought to be rendered as in English, though.
