Some guy in who collects weird arty shit/runs a weird arty shit store said he'd pay me $[a pretty reasonable sum] each if I wrote some NES songs, put them on cartridges (this is accomplished by simply hacking up an old Super Mario Bros. cartridge or something and burning a new EPROM for it), decorated such cartridges with Weird Paint and labels, and sent them to him (some for himself, some to sell in his store). Bonus points if I use my engineering powers to augment the functionality of these cartridges in some way (I am going to add actual mechanical software-controllable percussion devices or something to a couple).
The idea is that each of these is a unique piece with its own original song and some sort of weird trippy ~dEmOsCeNe~ graphics to go with it. And apparently the sort of people who frequent his store are the sort who appreciate that kind of thing to the extent that they will pay money for it. Weird!
I am going to do this. I will probably do a series of 12, sell 8 to this guy, and sell 4 to the Internet. If anyone else is interested in having one, let me know.
