Except it's a perfect unison, so there's no beating. They remain in whatever phase relation they started with (here, 0deg of difference).

So, no beating (same frequency), 0 degrees of phase difference, you're just increasing the amplitude of your sine!

Oops, no, I should have specified that by unison I meant an octave apart. Listen to it; you can hear this.

And "no beating" doesn't mean "same frequency", but you probably know that.
