Exhibit A: Dell 65W AC adapter model no. LA65NS0-00, provided for Dell Inspiron 1501 notebook computer.
The strain relief on this stupid adapter is the fakest thing I've ever seen. It's actually some distance away from the plug, and is attached by two thin Tendrils of plastic. It therefore provides next to no actual relief of strain on one axis. And the cable insulation itself hardly extends into the connector sheath. I have had to replace this stupid thing two times now because it breaks at the strain relief. My parents have had the same exact problem. And, oh, look, so has everybody.
Dell Support, of course, continues to insist that nobody has ever had this problem ever before and it's all my fault for ever moving my laptop one centimeter in any direction while it's plugged in and I'm basically an idiot. And they want SIXTY-SIX U.S. DOLLARS for the replacement. I am not about to buy another replacement! And try resoldering molded connectors. Just try it. And I can't replace the whole connector assembly because it's some stupid nonstandard mess with a pin in the center for the sense line which decides whether it gets to charge the battery or not (no).
Eeeugh Dell this is the fifteenth thing I have had break on this stupid laptop now and I find it mighty funny that it all starts going south right at the end of the warranty
Dell is going to give me a free stupid adapter or I'm never going to buy anything ever again
