"PERHAPS EVEN MORE VALID" KID IS BACK and this time boy howdy am I in trouble for not liking Japanese cartoons! (S)he even swears up a cuss or two!
tgies.
You remember me? I wrote to you sevral weeks ago about anime. From the little I can see from your livejournal since you made it an elitist private livejournal your attitude still hasn't changed.
I'm going to be real with you. Anime/manga haters andPeople like you make me fuckin sick. Not only are you racist but also you're anti-art, against the liberation of Asia, and you don't even aknowledge the validity of other cultures. It's sickening that you can even claim to care about Japan when you very obviously don't want to honor Japan in anyway.
Stop posting in the Japanese comm if you're going to have such a destructive attitude. I don't believe you even know the 日本誤 language anyway if you can't even understand the culture. Feels bad being discovered for what you are, doesn't it?
Now be a good boy and fuck off. Youll do it if you really want what's best for the study of Japan and Japanese culture.
Let's just think about this a bit uh
- My "attitude" about Japanese cartoons is subject to regular assessments by a mysterious person who knows how to use anonymous remailers. Latest test results: UNSATISFACTORY.
- By not being a fan of cartoons or comic books, I am perpetuating racism and hindering the "liberation of Asia". Also, Japan's entire culture consists of cartoons now, and by not following them religiously I am writing off a whole nation.
- I am no longer allowed to post in
japanese, because when people from there accost me on AIM or whatever about joining their fansubbing group, I say "nah, I'm not really into that". - Dropping Japanese phrases for bonus credibility points! Except that "日本誤" is supposed to read "日本語" (note the not-particularly-subtle difference in radicals on the right half of the last character). Both are read "nihongo", so that sort of partly explains how this person managed to mistype it using an IME or something. Sorta. It's not easy to get that wrong, really -- you'd have to convert the last character separately from the other two and ignore the suggested choice. Anyway, the point is that "日本語" would mean "Japanese language", while "誤" means "mistake". Perfect.
- I am clearly only pretending to know Japanese, because how the hell do you learn a language without becoming dangerously obsessed with cartoons made in that language? I should feel bad, because I have just been Outed.
- I have to quit LiveJournal or the Internet or Japan or something because my unique don't-watch-a-lot-of-cartoons approach to cultural studies is fucking with everyone's chi and hindering serious work in the field of arguing about which is the best monster in Naruto or something
Aaaaaanyway. I now recognize that I have been abusing the privilege of understanding Japanese by not using it to watch a bunch of cheesy cartoons and I intend to correct this immediately
By watching Pokemon
Fuuuuuuuuck youuuu
I really don't like to harp on about this because Vod knows there are enough people on the Internet harping on about Japan but I guess I just don't see why my "It is probably a good idea to broaden one's horizons to include things which aren't cartoons" pragma is so horribly offensive
Well, that and I find all this painfully hilarious
