In addition to the actual subject matter and events related, the whole thing is written in a sort of nonsensical psychotic style, so I don't even know what to make of this

HONOLULU - The landlord of a Kalihi building that collapsed on Sunday claimed the homeless who live there caused the building to crumble.

KITV spoke with co-owner Daniel Cunningham and asked him about accusations of him conducting medical experiments on the residents.

The Gulick Avenue apartment home in Kalihi that collapsed Sunday is now cordoned off.

Cunningham said he was going to take the illegal scaffolding down.

"I unfortunately did not get it down before someone did that to me," Cunningham said.

Cunningham claimed the residents caused it to fall. However, one tenant said he saw Cunningham on the roof of the makeshift structure before the collapse.

The story has gotten even stranger. Some tenants claimed they were getting injections because they feared eviction. Richard Sumiye said he went blind after Cunningham injected a solution around his eyes with a needle.

Cunningham, who lost his chiropractor's license and wears socks on his hands, said he is helping extend lives with stem cell therapy.

"It sounds like you don't want to answer my question about what treatment you are giving to these people," KITV reporter Mahealani Richardson told Cunningham.

"I don't think it's intelligent for me to do that because it's a bad law," he said.

He said that aliens created the law.

"I think you work for them. The media works for them and they own the money and they are eating people down below," Cunningham said.

The landlord said he is trying to help the homeless and that he will clean up the mess.

Every time someone on the Internet goes off on a tirade about The Rap Music and The Hip-Hop Culture and how it is Destroying Our Youth, I ask them if they think violent video games affect children.

The answer has been "no", usually followed by "and what does that have to do with anything", every single time now.

David Byrne is completely amazing

Is it possible to not like David Byrne? I don't know that it is!

I am currently listening to the music he did for the HBO series Big Love, and it is amazing. I have not seen the television show, but it is apparently about a fundamentalist Mormon family, so the music he wrote for it is in the style of ecclesiastical/hymnal music.

The thing about Byrne is that he can write music in basically any style ever and it will own. David Byrne whistled a better tune than you will ever come up with this morning while he was frying eggs, and he didn't even write it down. It's like he basically owns so hard that he can bring out the absolute best in any genre he chooses to compose in and get even the most xXxhardcorexXx metalhead to admit that folk music or Italian classical or whatever is good too

I kind of want to be him when I grow up. I have this thing where I write songs in all kinds of different styles, but I don't have the wherewithal to record them. I wish I had access to an orchestra, or at least a brass section. Some people who can play Eastern European folk instruments, or African melodic percussion. I need to make some connections or get a grant or something. Does anyone want to give me a few thousand bucks to hire a choir. Damb.

anyway yeah get Big Love: Hymnal and probably Grown Backwards. His new album with Eno is pretty good too

now playin (that other song ended a while ago): David Byrne - Au Fond du Temple Saint. yeah he did a Bizet aria. what up.

Anybody got a USB MIDI interface I can have for less than $40? Or better yet, less than $12, since it seems like I can get one on eBay for around that much? MIDI on my sound card is really unreliable, for some reason; it seems like it buffers everything in some terrible way and winds up gagging on SysEx messages and fast bits and stuff.

Also, I made a fun discovery recently: They killed MPU-401/MIDI UART support in Vista. Cute.

HIGHLIGHT TO VIEW

sarah palin dies (ron paul kills her)

tgies: (Default)

got a tascam portastudio 488 multitrack tape recorder off of some craigslist dude

it's great it's made of ENGINEERING and it weighs like SIX HUNDRED POUNDS (Whack someone over the head with a TASCAM Portastudio 488)

horrible test recordings forthcoming (I need to pick up a bunch more cables first I am having a cable crisis)

things to do

  • Cables
  • Find my DYMO label maker and replace "PORTASTUDIO 488" with "PRO TOOLS" and "TASCAM" with "APPLE COMPUTER" (No one will be the wiser)
  • Shower tapes

Hey sound people, try taking the derivative of an audio signal and listening to original + derivative (might need to mess with the proportions)

It sounds like bad pre-emphasized tapes but somehow better. Welcome to Transients Country

I listened to a couple songs that way and I'm afraid I'm getting used to everything sounding like that now (I could probably sell a WinAmp plugin to do thX-FI CRYSTALLIZER)

debate highlights:

  • mccain throwing a hissyfit about what obama did or did not say mccain did or did not say, seriously did he think that was NOT going to make him look like an idiot
  • obama saying "i agree with senator mccain" every six seconds like some kind of. agreer. person.
  • mccain not knowing jack about what's going on with russia! again! woooooooooo

by my calculus ron paul won that debate.

<Tenniru> I think the meaning of songwriting is to write things you feel even though you know they are wrong and you are being a jackass by thinking it

The autumnal zeitgeist is kicking in; we had the first real autumn weather a few days ago and everything is just getting all autumn

MAN I damn LOVE AUTUMN

I feel so GOOD it's INEXCUSABLE

and EVERYTHING IS EXCELLENT and EVERYONE IS GREAT and EVERY BREATH OF AIR is like a BREATH OF FRESH AIR when you're AUTUMN

seriously! I have had a REALLY REALLY BAD past like several months and it has just been CRAPPY and I have been depressed and lethargic like all the time but the weather flips around juuuust right and WHAM i'm tgies and all of the sudden I feel like DOING STUFF and GETTING STUFF DONE and basically I haven't felt this good in about a year (the first three quarters of last year were pretty good and actually last summer was awesome but things got pretty unbelievably terrible towards the end of the year.)

I can't explain it! I don't know! Maybe someone put crack in EVERYTHING! But seriously the AIR is different (seriously like i am acutely aware of every breath i take and i am finding breathing far more enjoyable than it's supposed to be) and I am all ENERGETIC and well I don't have to be anywhere until late today so I was up at 4 AM shooting some damn hoops.

I AM TONY GIES

I INVENTED FUN

i'm going to post some stuff up here soon i have been working on a lot of things lately now that i feel like doing anything :))))))

I'M AN EDGY "DEAL WITH IT" ATHEIST, SO, ON THE THEORY THAT BEING A CAUSTIC LOUDMOUTH DOCTRINAIRE WILL GET ME THE ATTENTION THAT'S MISSING FROM MY LIFE, I CELEBRATE RAMADAN BY POSTING YOUTUBE VIDEOS OF ME EATING A LOT OF PORK. SO BASICALLY JUST LIKE ANY OTHER MONTH.

I WOULD TELL YOU MY THOUGHTS ON WHY ISLAM IS AN INVALID LIFESTYLE, BUT I OF COURSE AM AN IGNORANT SHUT-IN WITH NOTHING ORIGINAL TO SAY ABOUT THE SUBJECT — I AM SOUND AND FURY, SIGNIFYING NOTHING — SO JUST TREAT THIS PARAGRAPH AS A BLANK TO FILL IN WITH THE RIGIDLY INTOLERANT VENOM-FILLED VITRIOL OF YOUR CHOICE. REMEMBER: HATE SPEECH IS OKAY WHEN IT'S ABOUT THOSE GOSH DARN RELIGIOUS SHEEPLE.

ONE DAY I HOPE MY IMPOTENT RAGE AND MINDLESS MISQUOTING OF STALE TALKING POINTS WILL RID THE WORLD OF THE MENACE OF FAITH ONCE AND FOR ALL. FOR NOW, THOUGH, TUNE IN AROUND CHRISTMAS FOR MORE SANCTIMONIOUS BLEATING
